Being Producer...So far...

When picking roles in our group i felt happy with being producer and still do but i now see that it intails quite a lot of organisation, which is hard as im not the most organised person in the world, after a few meeting up sessions it has been hard to organise getting everyone together but i have now put together a schedule and re-written the script including some of the new scene which should hopefully make it easier to meet up, hopefully we will have the shoot done by next friday day providing actors, equipment and group members are available.

Gaze film development...

When thinking about how we wanted our film to look i suggested a film called 'the machinist' which has very dark overtones and low saturation, which i think would work really well with our film. Here's the trailer to get an idea of what i mean.

David Chipperfield- Form matters

After a tutorial a while back having a short discussion about form and fuction i went away and thoughtabout it, i also found that thereis a pretty cool showing on in the Design museum in London. showing an architect called David Chipperfield's work in 'form mattters', if i get the time and money i would quite like to check it out, i want as part of my practitioner development to start going to more design exhibitions in the region of the multimedia course i want to go into.

Gaze film productions....

We produced our presentation last friday on what we want the film to look like, where we are going to shoot it, who are our actors and other key considerations. We had decided we wanted to make the script into a trailer for a full feature film but found out that this wasn't really allowed but this hasn't effected all the other aspects we decided on.

We have tried to make an early start to filming some of the scenes but for a number of reasons haven't been able to, although we have a pretty good ideas in our heads of how the film will look so i dont think it should take us too long to shoot and edit providing our actors are available.

Practitioner Development...

After our first group lecture with jools on active learning we started look into our personal development as practitioners in multimedia design.
Ive started joining art and deisgn coucils which advertise freelance work and work experience for undergraduates, so i have started looking into working with people already in the fields i want to go into.
I've also signed up to a site called nottingham contempory which posts arts & design events happening in the city, events such as talks from well known practitiones, debates or gallery openings, i have aslo visited one gallery through the site.
Over the holidays i started looking into some of the new projects and creating mood boards for them, maily the secret laire project which i find most intresting.
I am also trying to go see more films at the cinema, especially animation one's, i went to see avatar in 3d and was pretty amazed.
There is another site called "the cool hunter" which i have already talked about on my blog, the site posts anything to do with anything art & design related, but it can give you some pretty cool ideas.
